![]() ![]() I probably wouldn’t touch multiplayer, even if it was good. I’m a single-player gamer for the most part. The campaign’s saving grace is it’s “return to form”, but beyond that, I was underwhelmed by the story at best and disappointed at worst. I can't speak to your experience, but I have trouble justifying using a vehicle which is so limited in the environment when I could just as easily dispatch any of the enemies on foot, given how much easier Infinite feels on Heroic and Legendary compared to past titles. Of course, when you use the vehicles for transportation like the Banshee or Wasp, you have to deal with the constant enemy Banshee spawns popping in and out, so it's constantly a war of attrition making it long distances on higher difficulties. Given how squishy the vehicles are to begin with, it makes more sense to just stay on foot and keep your mobility and either jack enemy vehicles or destroy them with your FOB arsenal. The ground vehicles are easily replaced by an upgraded grapple shot given the vertically of the map causing the vehicles like the Scorpion, Warthog, and Mongoose to either become stuck, flip consistently, or simply run out of room to maneuver effectively. ![]() It's a criticism that I've seen a fair bit and had experiences with to the point that I only used the Wasp for transportation. It all just feels like the beginning of a game maybe even the first 25% where its suppose to branch out into other things. Infinite you'll swing up one mountain you've basically seen it all. The parts leading up to the flood in Halo 1, Driving around the city in halo 2, The big escape ending from halo 3. There are a lot of different types of environments you go through with big plot beats that feel memorable. The actual missions were a little more exciting but you can only play them once and they still did suffer some same syndrome of grey metallic corridors throughout.Ī more linear focused level setup imo is way better because they allow for much better art direction and plot progression. No matter what part of the map you're on the terrain looks the exact same. I was afraid of halo turning into a open world and my fears turned out to be justified, everything is all the same. Humanizing Chief was awesome, he was coming out of his shell and actually feeling something.
